Dance Movement Therapy by Lilach Bitan

Lilach Bitan received her MA from the University of Haifa and has been a Dance Movement Therapist since 2012.
Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) is a modality that asserts the mind, body, and spirit are interconnected based on the empirical evidence that changes in the body reflect changes in the mind. Nonverbal and movement communication is as important as verbal language in the therapeutic process.
Benefits of DMT:
- Emotional therapy based on movement and talk therapy.
- Relieves stress and tension that accumulate in the body.
- Improves confidence and self-esteem.
- Encourages creativity and imagination.
- Effective for youth and adults.
The treatments for youth and adults involve talk therapy combined with movement, for specific treatment of anxiety and depression through CBT (cognitive-behavioral) psychotherapy.
Treatments for youth and adults usually last 50 minutes. Treatments with youth also include a regular monthly meeting of 50 minutes with the parents to work together to improve the quality of family life.
Anxiety Disorder
Anxiety disorder is highly common among today's population. It creates avoidance and disturbs function. Through conversation and intentional movement, we can understand its triggers and the bodily symptoms that it creates.
Together we can locate the root cause and turn attention inward.
From Avoidance to Awareness
Movement brings back vitality and energy and helps with the development of confidence.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
The patient participates in the process in which we plan together the correct intervention to transition from avoidance to self-responsibility and awareness.
